Ultra 6 E

Description

The Ultra 6 E is Stillpoints’ reference isolation footer for audio electronics — amplifiers, preamplifiers, DACs, CD transports, phono stages, and power conditioners.

It is the first Ultra product to feature technology pockets on opposing sides of the isolator: five exposed pockets on the upper surface make direct contact with the component chassis, while a sixth pocket on the underside addresses vibration from the support surface below. This dual-sided arrangement tackles mechanical energy from both directions simultaneously, lowering the noise floor to a degree that single-sided designs cannot match.

Inside each technology pocket sits Stillpoints’ proprietary ceramic bearing ball stack in a precision-machined stainless steel housing. This configuration isolates components from external vibration while evacuating the micro-vibrations generated internally by transformers, capacitors, and circuits. The result is true isolation — not damping — operating above 20kHz to remove noise without shifting tonal character.

The Ultra 6 E excels at eliminating what reviewers have called “transient blurring” — the subtle smearing of leading edges that robs music of its immediacy. Backgrounds become blacker. Instruments gain palpability and separation. Bass tightens and gains weight. The soundstage deepens, and the loudspeakers seem to disappear entirely, leaving only the performance.

The Absolute Sound named the Ultra 6 a Product of the Year, describing it as “a state-of-the-art isolation device… it does suggest that vibrations obscure more — much more — of the audio signal than many audiophiles realise.”

Configuration

The Ultra 6 E features a black powder-coated finish with five exposed technology pockets on top, one technology pocket on the base, and a central 1/4-20 threaded hole for direct attachment to components using Stillpoints adapters.

For maximum performance, pair with an Ultra Base. This provides fine height adjustment for levelling and delivers a 20–25% improvement in isolation. Available as a discounted bundle.

The Ultra 6 E integrates seamlessly into Stillpoints rack systems. It can be attached directly to ESS racks using X Grid or Rail Grid, mounted to the Component Stand SS, or placed between the cabinet sections of multi-module loudspeakers such as subwoofer/satellite combinations.

Start with three units positioned under the component’s circuit board or heaviest internal elements — not necessarily where the manufacturer placed the original feet. Once you’ve found the optimal positions, adding a fourth can increase the effect further.
